27 Jan The award granted to the ClubSwan 36 approves the innovative nature of ACI Sail project
Boot Düsseldorf. Two words that evoke special emotions in every nautical enthusiast. The world’s largest nautical fair attracts the biggest players in the industry and thousands of visitors every year. The 51st edition of Boot was the opportunity to present the new project designed by Adriatic Croatia International Club (ACI) in partnership with the nautical icon – Nautor’s Swan – under the name of ACI Sail. The place of honour at the booth of the eminent Finnish sailboat producer was given to the ClubSwan 36 sailboat displaying ACI Sail’s logo with the motto “Sail2Future” that became reality on the first day of the boat show already. During the European Yacht of the Year contest the sailboat ClubSwan36 won the special prize – the Innovation Award. The jury composed of journalists of the most important nautical magazines were delighted by the innovative design and maritime solutions offered by the star of the new project launched by the largest marina chain on the Mediterranean and present at the world’s most prominent contest of the year. They justified their choice by stating that the engineers of Nautor’s Swan were able to produce currently the most exciting serially produced sailing boat in the world by using the cutting-edge technology.
The “Yacht Oscars” were solemnly awarded during the Boot Düsseldorf. Among numerous guests attending the ceremony was also the CEO of ACI, Kristijan Pavić, who expressed his satisfaction with the fact that the very sailing boat chosen by the Croatian company for the new project, won this eminent professional prize.
“Congratulations to Nautor’s Swan for this very special award in the nautical world. This shows that ACI Sail stands for the project that best combines innovation, vision and excellence. Our partnership with the Finnish sailboat producer shall result in a whole new experience of sailing and shall enrich the offer of nautical tourism on the Adriatic”, pointed out Kristijan Pavić, the CEO of ACI.
The world’s only training center for innovative sailing boats ACI Sail ClubSwan 36 Training Center was first presented to the sailing public in October 2019 during The Nations Trophy regatta in Palma de Mallorca. During its première in Germany, ACI Sail project manager Ivan Kljaković Gašpić had the pleasure to present to journalists, guests and business partners the innovative concept of sailing in the Adriatic, as well as his experiences with this awarded sailing boat. The awarded Croatian former sailor participated in the rigorous and detailed testing in Barcelona followed by the European Yacht of the Year contest and competed with the ClubSwan 36 in two most difficult Croatian regattas – Jabuka (Apple) and St. Nicholas. Within a joint performance at the booth of Nautor’s Swan during the public presentation named ‘ACI Sail Talk’ he shared his own experiences with the sailboat of the future and announced the future plans.
“The moment I saw the designs of the ClubSwan 36 and tested its first prototypes, I knew already that that sailing boat was designed to push the limits”. The so-called “game changer”. The designer Juan Kouyoumdjian designed a brilliant yacht capable of performing a very fast, safe, stable and exceptionally balanced sailing. What matters the most is that it is equally designed for both, professional and amateur sailors. The prize awarded to Nautor’s Swan is a great thing for ACI Sail as well, since we both strive for the same values. This is a popularization of class, of ACI and of the Adriatic as a destination”, explained Ivan Kljaković Gašpić.
ACI Sail has the largest fleet of the award-winning sailboat ClubSwan 36 in the world available for rent for European regattas. This year two trainings will take place in Croatia, during the month of March in Split and in early April on Hvar.
