ACI Sail presents the first edition of ACI Sail summer cup in Split, Croatia which will be held from 10th until 12th of July and with the special route just for ClubSwan 36 class.
ACI Sail Summer Cup, organized by the sailing club “Labud”, is the first regatta in ACI Sail Swan challenge 2020 regatta season. This brand new summer regatta set on the route Split-Bol/island Brač-Split takes you through one of the best known sailing routes on the Adriatic sea of Croatia.
Beautiful natural scenery and constant summer wind from Split to island Brač
Starting with the long distance race on the first day, from Split, the UNESCO heritage site, then passing through famous Splitska Vrata (Strait of Split) and finishing in Bol on island Brač will provide an amazing venue for strategists and tacticians.
Splitska Vrata is the transition zone before great downwind leg with sea breeze to Bol in typical summer day. Island Brač and its famous Zlatni Rat (Golden Horn) is one of the UNESCO world heritage sites with a breathtaking scenery. Wind in the summer period is prevailing NW gradient added with generous sea breeze effect, starting from 13:00 and peaking around 20 knots at 17:00.
The protrusion of Zlatni Rat below tall mountain in the narrowest part of Hvar Channel creates venturi effect for all NW, W and SW winds, which makes Zlatni Rat an extremely attractive location for windsurfing and sailing.
Start and finish line will be extending from Zlatni Rat tip, therefore providing stadium attraction for numerous spectators.
